about

This was the first of BluWave Bandits recordings. Recorded in 1992 after the groups first world tour. The group was founded by guitarist and lead vocalist Jean-Paul Bourelly and included and outstanding cast, Alfredo Alias on drums Melvin Gibbs on bass and Kundalini Mark Batson on keyboards, vocals. Saints & Sinners features some of the tightest original grooves related to the so-called Black rock scene of the 90's in New York.
The recording used the effect of spinning the tape at slower speeds. The result is a recording with murky punchy low end and some grainy and gritty top end. This was a group of original funk stylists.
